I’ve always had a voice that people notice.  Warm & Reassuring.  Confident & Articulate.  Sultry.  Sinister.  Knowledgeable.  Most of all, Credible.  With some Humor besides.  I’m the Girl Scout who told the scariest stories in the tent.  The kid always called upon to read in class.  The drama student who won Best Actress for playing a middle-aged Japanese gentleman.  Really!  My voice kept management trainees awake and executive boards alert.  And, as a volunteer emcee at folk festivals, it’s my voice that keeps the kiddies out of the poison ivy!  Not a diva, I truly enjoy both solo and ensemble work in front of the microphone.  Each project is an opportunity to grow AND have fun.

A Natural Wonder

For nearly 30 years, I have been a professional speaker, teacher, counselor, and trainer with both youth and adults in a variety of settings including public and private schools and universities, non-profit organizations, and businesses.  I have been heard as a narrator for Holy Cross Hospital, the Great Noise Ensemble, the University of Maryland University College, and the Drum for Joy Orchestra.  For the past two years, I have been a volunteer recording artist/reader for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic of Washington, D.C. – an experience which continually opens my eyes to other worlds.  My love for learning is deeply entrenched and shows in my having a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in counseling and personnel services, and a doctorate in applied social psychology.  To nurture my love of music and voice, I studied the bel canto method with Dr. Napoleon Reed for 6 years and have been a student with John Burr in voiceover artistry since May 2007.  Bringing life into the words on a page is a joy and a talent I wish to share!
